A bit about the role…

 

The Finance Manager IF is a key role in the B2B Finance team with responsibility for supporting two areas; UK Individual Franchise (IF) and the Irish Franchise Partner (MBCC). 

Franchising has aggressive growth plans as part of the Costa UK&I Long Range Plan (LRP), aligning to the Total Coffee Company (TCC) and enabling Costa to be known as a World Class Franchisor.

Main activities include:

 

  • Business partnering and leading commercial support to the IF team providing timely and actionable insight, commentary and challenge to deliver overall P&L in line with agreed targets
  • Provision of Commercial insight providing constant and regular updates to the commercial direction of the business areas, applying knowledge of the market, commercial levers and operations to drive the best value and maximise overall returns to the Business, Manage risks and opportunities
  • Lead the forecasting, budgeting and planning (LRP) processes taking a strategic approach to developing plans whilst challenging to ensure it meets the overall strategic initiatives of the wider business.  Ensure alignment of key stakeholders around a common view of the facts and the required plan to deliver shareholder commitments with clear communication of the risks and opportunities.
  • Manage IF/MBCC Pricing working with Business Development lead on pricing strategy and margin analysis.  Progress and recommend approaches to Cost of Goods pricing for non-Coffee items in IF to move to a more easily understood, commercially viable and simplified model.  Implement and manage Trade Agreements with the IF Commercial team
  • Contact point for Franchise Partners (currently 36 partners) on financial matters, working collaboratively, balancing their short and medium term goals
  • Enable improved engagement with IF partners on Financial Reporting to drive greater understanding of profit performance and support enhanced action planning to deliver growth plans. Work with Costa Commercial teams to ensure Partner lens placed on initiatives and cashflow impacts
  • Actively contribute and participate in the various Franchise forums. This includes Profitability and Trading, Marketing, Operations, Supply chain as well as the Commercial Franchise Steering Group (CFSG)
  • Assist the Individual Franchise teams to maintain appropriate governance over the IF operations
  • Produce regular investment appraisal analysis, manage RFAs and ensure learnings are fed into future investment decisions
  • Collaborating with Finance Business Partners to help improve business decisions and support intra-function working across Global Finance
  • Ad hoc project engagement, both within IF but also across broader global finance transformation

Location: Remote role with the ability to travel to Costa office in Central London once or twice a week.
