The Performance and Development Engineer plays an important role in the development of capability and reliability across our suite of Costa professional machine products. In this unique role you will be required to anticipate, identify, and then eliminate or mitigate any potential issues that affect our ability to achieve our exceptional quality and standards, whilst reducing capital and revenue costs.

What you’ll do
Being a Lead Performance and Development Engineer is about so much more than bringing our coffee to the world. It’s your chance to stir up real success – which means you’ll be:
- Analysing data from the Machines to establish changes that need to be made to develop a business case to test new approaches and validate assumptions
- Reviewing capability and capacity of the team for developing and deploying any new initiatives
- Ensuring new developments are compliant with certification and health and safety standards and ensuring environmental impacts are understood and minimised
- Leading on quality, process and field standards through managing quality of our beverages to end consumer
- Leading the continuous improvement program for machine reliability
- Facilitate the change forum ensuring effective assessment, tracking and validation of benefits
Who you are
It’s your unique ingredients we’re interested in:
- An expert in Engineering fundamentals –systems, mechanical, hardware, software, test, data transmission and telemetry
- Passion for consumer quality, with experience of HACCP/ ISO standards/ process standardisation
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Proven experience working in environment with Field Engineers and across a range of complex equipment products (vending preferred)
- Lean/ Continuous Improvement expertise with ideally exposure to Six Sigma methodology
- Strong data analysis skills and able to build business cases
- Excellent communicator, with strong influencing skills, able to operate effectively in a matrixed organisation
Location: Hybrid – 2 days a week from our Loudwater Head Office or Central London
