 A bit about the role…

As a key member of the procurement team, you will be able to your procurement expertise to the food category and will be regarded as the leading authority, championing the pillars of customer, quality, profitability, security of supply and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Key responsibilities:

  • You’ll use strategic sourcing best practices and principles to match the customer and business needs with an available, qualified pool of suppliers managing COGs spend up to £100m
  • Sourcing of new suppliers and defining a global supplier strategy 
  • Contract Renewals and negotiation of contracts and risk mitigation
  • You’ll carry out tender evaluation including commercial analysis, product/service evaluation, and vendor capability evaluation with the support of the wider team
  • You’ll show passion and enthusiasm in learning and understanding the standard Costa Food and Beverage contract, working with our legal team to bespoke where required
  • You’ll develop relationships with appropriate stakeholders across the business and with the suppliers.
  • You’ll attend ongoing store visits, food safaris, innovation days, and food events with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • You’ll be a key contributor to the decision-making framework for new products

  • Bakery/Impulse category experience would be an advantage. 
  • Significant commercial procurement leadership experience
  • Experience in delivering exceptional procurement value in a complex environment, having supported major transformation and change programmes
  • Global sourcing experience
  • Developing new products from concept to commercialisation
  • Ability to demonstrate the ability to influence, challenge and negotiate with wide range of knowledgeable stakeholders, including suppliers and colleagues up to board level
  • Excellent analytical skills.

Location: Remote UK – with ability to travel.
